In the movie "Crocodile Dundee," Paul Hogan, when confronted by a mugger with a switchblade. pulls out a giant Bowie knife, and smiles,
"That's not a knife," he mocks the mugger. "THIS is a knife!"
Labor Day weekend, walking down to the dock where tiny (by comparison) 38 foot Mel's Angel was tied up, I gazed unbelievably at the massive ship moored to the same dock, and recalled a version of Paul Hogan's epic line.
THIS is a boat!
I quickly went online and searched to learn more - vessels that big are very trackable. Mi Sueno carries a price tag of $54.8 million. She had just been built, was formerly named "Mustang Sally" - and may never have been delivered to the original owner - who may well been a former Wall Street tycoon leveled by the economy.
The crew was very evasive about its mission there, and to our relief and gratitude, she wasn't the base for a drunken holiday party. In fact, to my surprise, despite having a fantastic galley just peek-able from dockside, the crew onboard ordered a dinner delivery from a local Chinese restaurant.
